  • How do I care for my fine heirloom furniture?
Our topcoats are made with recycled milk and cheese by products produced by Vermont Natural Coatings® . We have found this topcoat to be more durable than any other product we have ever used. All furniture we produce painted or stained receives a minimum of three to five satin or semi gloss coats. Protect wood surface from all heat and liquids, use pads, place mats and coasters appropriately. Wipe clean with slightly dampened cloth, to sanitize wipe clean with slightly dampened cloth 10% organic white vinegar 90% water . Avoid or rotate items on table tops placed in direct sunlight, and we also do not recommend the use of wax, oil or chemical cleansers. Relax and enjoy.
  • What can I expect from March Legend furniture?
Our products are bench made, by hand & assembled, by hand. Although many of our pieces are adorned with simple form, our world class construction features tell another story. Our products are made of real solid wood, a natural living material that will change its patina with age. In some instances, depending on placement and amount of sunlight, customers could experience, changes in color, bleed though of knots, and darker or lighter sections may appear in the finish. Natural & stained wood can vary with knots, mineral streaks, sap wood, & natural wood tone variations depending on wood type, March Legend cannot guarantee any natural wood characteristics. Our furniture photos are representative of our products only, each and every piece even if built in the same wood & style type can vary. The above is considered a natural trait of wood furniture and should be embraced as character and natural grace. Our products are not perfect, nor do we aspire for them to be. This in turn, is the charm & warmth of a handmade product. No piece we make will ever be alike. Our finishes are hand applied and hand rubbed. Our skill at March Legend is painted and stained aged furniture, it's our forte! This is how we started, it's what we are known for. Our furniture is not baked or UV cured with toxic solvents or finished in parts on an assembly line by machines nor will our furniture ever be. Our furniture is made in its entirely on the bench. It is assembled when it reaches our finishing department and all exposed surfaces, including the bottom side of our furniture, receive finish. The usable insides are finished to the same standard as the outer. This process is not absolutely perfect and customers should expect slight and minor differences and or small imperfections. Customers purchasing multiple pieces should expect minor differences due to the hand made, hand finished nature of our furniture as well. To us, this the only proper way to build and finish real & authentic farmhouse furniture. Don't tip toe, we make our furniture to use, gather round it, enjoy it. CHEERS!
